TEACHER’S OBJECTIVE
1. To teach the Children that nothing is too small to give God.
2. To teach the Children that they should serve God with money by giving their offering
to God.
CENTRAL TRUTH
Always give offering.
INTRODUCTION How many of you came to churn empty handed? Allow the children to respond) When we are
coming to church we should always bring an offering for the Lord. Always ask your parents
for
your offering. When you do so you are serving God with money and the Lord would be happy
with
you. Listen carefully to how a poor widow gave to God.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
1. Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury.
2. The rich cast in much money
3. There came a certain poor widow who also cast in her two mites.
4. Jesus was impressed by the act of the poor widow that he called His disciples to
inform them
of her generous act despite her poverty.
5. The poor widow’s Few mites was more in quality and quantity before Christ than the
many
thousand mites of other givers who gave out of their abundance.
LIFE APPLICATION
1. God sees our heart whenever we discharge any act of generosity towards Him and
towards His creatures.
2. As children of God we are expected to serve God with our substance no matter how
much or
little. For God loves a generous and sacrificial giver.
3. When we give to God we get the attention of heaven and of God Himself and He will
always
commend us for our act of generosity.
4. God accept every offering given out of pure heart and willingly given too.
MESSAGE OF SALVATION
God is the greatest giver. We cannot out-give Him. He first showed us the greatest act of
giving in
the gift of His Son Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world. When we too give to
Him
(His work
and fellow men) we are directly or indirectly participating in the work of
Salvation.
CONCLUSION
God loves a cheerful giver.
CHALLENGE All the rich men gave their offering according to the much they had but the poor widow gave
her all to the Lord. She was generous to the kingdom demands. How generous are you?
INVITATION
It is not every act of giving that is acceptable before God but that which is given through
faith in
Christ Jesus. Remember, the sacrifice of a sinner is an abomination before God.
Therefore come
unto the Lord confessing your sins, repent and forsake them. Then call on the
Lord Jesus. He will
write your name in the book of life.
